Program Supervisor Job Description 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  

The Program Supervisor provides professional supervision to the CASA Advocate Supervisors and provides program management to ensure sound advocacy and early permanency planning is provided for children in state custody due to abuse and neglect.    

QUALIFICATIONS:  

The Program Supervisor should have the following skills and experience:  

·        Bachelor’s degree in social service or child development or juvenile justice required; Master’s degree preferred 

·        The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower staff and volunteers to be effective in their roles. (Experience with volunteers preferred) 

·        The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities  

·        Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect   

·        Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting established deadlines 

·         Commitment to CASA program’s goals and mission  

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:  

The Program Supervisor reports directly to the Executive Director, who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·        Provides leadership to Advocate Supervisors including supervision, work planning, and evaluations 

·        Directs the comprehensive screening and training program for new and existing volunteers  

·        Reviews new cases and in consultation with Advocate Supervisors; assigns the appropriate volunteers 

·        Oversees distribution of case documentation  

·        Serves as the primary contact for programmatic partners (Children’s Division and Juvenile Office) when communicating about new CASA cases 

·        Serves as Community Relations specialist for external and internal agencies and organizations  

·        Supervises personal caseload of 10-15 CASA Volunteers 

·        Assists with outreach and public relations 

·        Ensures program follows National CASA standards and practices 

·        Develops and implements standard operating procedures and policies for case and data management 

·        Develops volunteer handbook and performance appraisals and ensures consistent use throughout the program 

·        Assists with volunteer appreciation events  

·        Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director
