The Role

ITHAKA works with the global higher education community to advance and preserve knowledge and to improve teaching and learning through the use of digital technologies around the world. As Publisher Relations and Editorial Coordinator, you will work closely with the Content Strategy and Relationship Team to support publishing new and existing open and licensed content on the JSTOR platform, and the workflows and business needs required to maintain our JSTOR, Artstor, and Portico products. This is a great opportunity for an organized individual who is excited to work with an editorial team that will be publishing open and licensed content across multiple content types from a broad range of publishers. This is a six month contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Content Strategy and Relationship Team (CSR) to support licensing content and the development of new collections.
  • Support new publisher onboarding activities and all publisher contact updates.
  • Support the processes for adding new content and collections to the platform publisher requests for making content freely available, and changes to publisher agreements and amendments.
  • Support the processes and workflows for publisher communications.
  • Support the CSR Team to identify curated content to publish on the JSTOR platform.
  • Keep publisher contact information updated in Salesforce.
  • Track and resolve issues related to content delivery with content contributors.
  • Research copyright histories and identify licensors and rights holders for all content types as needed.
  • Work cross functionally with internal teams to ensure all publisher support needs are met. These include, but are not limited to: financial and standard usage reports, agreement processing, data releases, publisher access accounts, publisher-related content pages, and content accuracy.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working for an organization that supports academic publishers in the higher education market.
  • Interest in academic research and scholarly publishing.
  • Exceptional planning and project management skills; ability to meet deadlines; goal-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to gain consensus across functions and groups.
  • Self-starter, happy working autonomously and with a distributed team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience tracking activities, status, and deadlines in a centralized system.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel a requirement (i.e., pivot tables and V-lookups).

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position ranges from $24.03 - $27.64 per hour. Starting pay may vary with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
