Pulmonary Disease - Critical Care Physician - Administration Job with Veterans Health Administration in East Orange, NJ

The East Orange VA Medical Center in East Orange, NJ is seeking a full-time Chief of Pulmonary Critical Care to support our Veteran population. The preferred candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care.

This Section Chief, Pulmonary Critical Care will lead their team of physicians in ensuring quality care in our inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as within the ICU. Will establish and manage the highest clinical practice standards, policies, and procedures for pulmonologists and respiratory therapists.

• Opportunity to teach and mentor fellows with academic appointment and affiliation with Rutgers NJ Medical School
• Spend about 30% of your time on administrative and leadership duties, while utilizing the remaining time for clinical patient care
• Steward quality assurance programs in accordance with VA policies
  
  

Key Requirements:

• 5 years experience and 1 year experience in leading a team highly preferred
• Experience working within the VA or with complex veteran patient populations highly preferred
• U.S. Citizen
• B/E or B/C in Pulmonary Critical Care
• Holds a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in ANY U.S. State
  
  

Additionally, the physician will work closely with our team of dedicated healthcare professionals to assure compliance with rational, regional, and local VA performance standards, and may serve on local committees as deemed necessary in support of the facility mission.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8a-4:30p
