SUMMARY:  

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations in the millwork industry. The Purchasing Manager will play a critical role in sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to meet the company's millwork needs across multiple states. 
  • Source, evaluate, and select vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing. 
  • Manage relationships with existing vendors, ensuring consistent supply and quality of materials. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and logistics teams to optimize inventory management and minimize stockouts. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand millwork requirements and develop procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. 
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings. 
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. 
  • Resolve vendor disputes and address any issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery schedules. 
  • Stay updated on industry developments, supplier performance, and market dynamics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations. 
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff. 
  • Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines. 
  • Must be able to work independently and with little direct supervision.
