Duties
Inspects lodging rooms, buildings, grounds, parking lots and other areas such as offices, day rooms,
hallways and storage areas for quality and quantity of work performed by all employees. Evaluates and updates all general room
instructions to include: guest directories, fire evacuation procedures, equipment instructions, sundry price listings, and informational
signage. Corrects publications as required. Reviews guest feedback, analyzes data, and informs Lodging Manager of issues or areas
requiring correction. Tracks trends in performance and conducts hospitality specific training to improve overall guest service and
compliance with established standards. Responsible for monitoring the Lodging Educational Institute training program in accordance
with Air Force Lodging standards. Works with section supervisors to determine training needs.
Tracks courses required to maintain or earn hospitality certifications. Oversees and manages the in-house training program. Oversees small study groups or self-directed studies as needed to complete lodging courses. Coordinates with Lodging Manager and Assistant Manager to establish and maintain budgets for staff development, incentives, and recognition items. Ensures completion of hospitality training required for certification
with AH&LA/ Educational Institute. Coordinates with the Lodging Educational Institute to obtain training dates, materials, and
instruction plans. Assesses the effectiveness of training standards in all areas of Lodging. Observes and reviews processes and
performance in the workplace and adjusts training programs to address any performance shortcomings noted. Performs related duties
as assigned.
Performance is evaluated in terms of implementation of Air Force Lodging's standard training program and expansion to specific local
needs. Works under the general supervision of the Lodging Manager or Assistant Manager who establishes broad program goals;
however, routine work is performed independently. Assists supervisors to ensure training plans are developed according to analysis
of tasks and standards and ensures compliance with Air Force Lodging Accreditation standards; AF Inns standard training is the
minimum measure. Use QAE findings and Customer Feedback to supplement training needs. A positive working relationship with
all lodging departments is vital to ensure employee access to scheduling and training. An active certification program is mandatory
and regular reports and measures will be provided to the Lodging Manager and Assistant Lodging Manager semi-annually to enhance
staff development.

Qualifying Experience
Experience in the operational management of a civilian or military lodging program. This
experience must have included supervisory responsibility, ( i.e., team lead level or higher of at least one functional area such as
housekeeping, Guest Service, etc.) sufficient to demonstrate skill and knowledge in such areas as team building, customer service,
staff scheduling, financial management, and human resources. Ability to train or have experience which shows potential to train
others. A baccalaureate degree in hospitality or business is desired. Ability to read, speak, and write English. Maintain a valid
driver's license.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
