Quality Control Investor Loans Manager

Purpose

Direct the review of investor lending quality control procedures and practices implemented by State Employees’ Credit Union and as required by investors. Focus is on regulatory compliance, adequacy of underwriting and documentation, proper collateralization, and servicing of these investments made. The position will actively supervise a team of employees who perform the following functions:

• Monitor and review applicable laws and regulations for investor loans.
• Draft and review investor loan quality control policies and procedures.
• Provide advisory services relative to investor lending quality control matters.
• Perform risk assessments, testing and monitoring.
  
  

Duties

The position will be responsible for the management of applicable investor loan quality control related tasks. The position directs and manages a team of direct report Assistant Managers, Analysts and/or Specialists. The position works closely with the business units/departments as well as provides support with investor loan quality control issues requiring a high level of compliance and banking expertise and experience. The position is accountable for coordinating highly complex investor loan quality control audits and relationships, as well as responding to internal requests for guidance. The role will require the ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to highly complex topics. The position will also provide department wide analysis and development of innovative monitoring and oversight methods, designed to complement the use of sample testing to evaluate control effectiveness.

The position maintains significant control and influence over all mortgage quality control objectives to ensure those objectives are achieved.

Requirements

Must have four-year degree, CCUE Certification and 5 consecutive years of full-time SECU service, or Associate of Arts or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).

Must have 5 years of work experience in the field of quality control.

Must have experience in branch and/or operations environment with understanding of GSE/Regulatory loan compliance and quality control.

Must be able to effectively manage a team.

Must have strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be able to manage projects involving cross functional teams and technical resources.

Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.

Must be proficient using available resources to acquire information regarding investor lending regulations, as well as credit union policies and guidelines.

Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.

Demonstrates a willingness to adapt to changing business practices.

Must have Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation.

Job Environment

Hybrid position. Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.

Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
