Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position of SQL Developer should have a strong understanding and experience with all aspects of SQL, including specifically stored procedures, triggers, and CTEs (Common Table Expressions). They should also be proficient in working with Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory, as well as have a strong understanding of partitioning. Additionally, candidates should be highly detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs are also essential for success in this role. A degree in computer science or a related field and previous experience working with large, complex databases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support various applications and databases
• Utilize common table expressions (CTE) to simplify and optimize SQL code
• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory
• Implement partitioning strategies to improve performance and manage large volumes of data
• Perform data analysis and troubleshoot data-related issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and gather requirements for database development
• Design and implement database structures and schemas to store and organize data
• Write efficient and effective SQL code for data retrieval, manipulation, and aggregation
• Tune database performance and recommend improvements as needed
• Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups and data validation checks
• Continuously learn and stay updated on new SQL features and technologies to improve database performance and efficiency.
