Required Skills

Minimum of 5 years experience in building, installing, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, maintaining and implementing enterprise Cisco data networks including Cisco Nexus

ios-xe code experience within Cisco

At least 2 or more years with heavy emphasis on WAN routing and switching

Polished, professional in terms of presentation and communication style

Should understand firewall best practices and concepts and have experience Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls

Experience working in an environment with at least 150 network devices or more

Experience with a network monitoring tool such as Solar Winds

Experience managing, supporting and troubleshooting MPLS framework

DHCP, DNS

Experience working with WAN carriers such as AT&T or Verizon and a solid understanding of how to escalate issues within those carriers

Experience creating network solutions/designs that solve problems or that would be related to projects

Must have strong leadership skills and flexibility when handling change

Ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment

Demonstrated knowledge of network technologies and trends

Ability to work within and across large, enterprise teams

Excellent written and verbal skills

Strong expertise with networking protocols such as EIGRP and BGP

Desired Skills

Strongly desire someone who has strong Cisco wireless and ISE networking skills

Any of the following certifications are: Cisco CCNP,CCNA Security, CCDE, CCIE

Scripting skills including Python is a plus but not required

Experience working in a heavy regulated environment

4 year college degree a plus

Description Of Role/Responsibilities

This Network Engineer role is with an enterprise organization that offers the chance to a highly skilled IT network engineer professional that can practically apply both business and technical insights into building, supporting and maintaining a very large and complex WAN as well as determine overall network health, compare with industry standards, and establish operating thresholds, alert and countermeasure when thresholds are exceeded. This role will have a heavy focus on day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting WAN issues. This person should have expertise with Cisco Data Networks including Nexus and ideally experience supporting Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls. It is a fast paced, complex, enterprise environment so it offers someone a chance to be challenged but to also work with outstanding people. This role will be very critical as this company has a lot of transformative work happening including and not limited to divestitures, acquisitions, etc and so anyone with experience in that area as a Network Engineer is also helpful.
