ESSENTIAL DUTIES (For details on performing the Essential Duties, please refer to the SOP):

Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety;
  2. Oversees all OSHA Compliance, laws, regulations, reports, and training programs to ensure a Safe Workplace Environment;
  3. Develops Safe Workplace policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies;
  4. Interfaces with regulatory agencies, attends all safety committee meetings and interfaces with safety committee members and staff to formulate corrective actions;
  5. Develops, Designs, and executes all safety and workplace safe work practices training for all levels of employees;
  6. Ensures safety training, safety certifications, updates, and corrective action follow-up is completed consistently, effectively and in a timely manner;
  7. Develops and implements accident investigations’ training and administration of same, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
  8. Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations, jobsites and facilities for safe work practices compliance, and follows up to ensure action items have been addressed within 30 calendar days;
  9. Reviews all Workplace Safety and OSHA registration and documents for regulatory and safety compliance;
  10. Monitors and keeps abreast of all current information and changing regulations and requirements related to hazardous materials, agents, OSHA, Construction Regulations, and EPA compliance;
  11. Directs, updates, and executes all industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and compliance with up to date knowledge of safety standards, including Construction specific hazards related to Fire, Natural Disasters, etc.;
  12. Investigates and evaluates new safety equipment for safe-guards’ appropriateness, operational security, and provides training specifics for same;
  13. Responds to and provides assistance to all emergency situations;
  14. Responsible for fleet safety and investigations;
  15. Responsible for creating and ensuring timely reporting of workplace accidents, potential hazards in need of attention and safety drills as specific to construction industry;
  16. Attends conferences, meetings, and workshops to keep up-to-date and seeks pre-approval of same from immediate supervisor on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations as they apply to our industry;
  17. Maintains required level of safety certification for self and others in (OSHA 10, 30, 500);
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management and Safety Compliance preferred; Must be OSHA 500 Certified and maintain such certification up to date;
  2. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  3. Must possess ability to train and certify others in the appropriate capacity for training needs specific to Commercial Construction Industry
  4. Must possess at least 10 years’ Safety Management experience leading and training others in Workplace Safety, use of safeguards when operating equipment, DOT expertise in necessary licensing for equipment and heavy equipment operation, safe workplace practices, safety data sheets and regulatory compliance;
  5. Must possess strong skills in ability to organize and effectively manage large amounts of data for compliance with regulatory agency deadlines, training certifications, EPA and OSHA Commercial Construction Compliance.
