The primary purpose of the Sales Consultant is to assist with various responsibilities including communicating with customers and members in person, over the phone, or via email regarding vehicles for sale in our inventory. Sales Consultants will be presenting vehicle pricing, and trade-in values, discussing potential finance options, riding with customers for demonstration drives, driving vehicles to get fuel, helping get vehicles ready for delivery, and driving vehicles to customers. Must be able to present a professional and pleasant experience while taking on the role as a Sales Consultant customer-facing representative. Must have goal-oriented motivator behaviors to ensure organizational sales goals and objectives are not just achieved but exceeded.
Major Duties And Essential Functions
Prospecting new sales opportunities
Answer customer/member’s questions about auto units, financing, and purchase process
Deliver with confidence, in explaining Market Driven Prices on vehicles and explain trade-in values that satisfy customers while ensuring profit for the dealership
Base knowledge of the Automotive Industry
Desking for profitable deals to maximize front and back-end profit
Ability to manage and follow up on leads by creating a relationship and delivering on commitments
Achieve monthly goals and department objectives
Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and communication
Ability to change priorities quickly as time-sensitive needs arise
Familiarity with consumer lending products and practices
High-level mental fortitude
Follow up with the loan and ancillary product cancellations
Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations to prevent penalty, loss for non-compliance, or potential legal action against the Credit Union
Ability to generate internal referrals using a consultative approach
Maintain clean paperwork and timely completion of funding
Ability to understand tag and title laws; DMV, dealership contracts, and ancillary products
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with four years of lending/Sales experience in a credit union or dealership or other financial institution is preferred.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 plus years’ experience in a sales environment, with a proven record of success. Additionally, have a thorough understanding of automobile dealership Sales and Finance departments operation a plus. Sales skills developed through formal training, along with presentation skills required to deliver product.
