POSITION: School Counselor

LOCATION: Adirondack Educational Center, Saranac Lake

Description

  • Academic skills support and career pathways
  • Career and college readiness preparation
  • Working knowledge of master schedule development and course requests
  • Assist students in post-secondary planning such as college applications, scholarships and resume preparation
  • Foster positive parent involvement
  • Works closely with component district counseling departments
  • Reviews each student's educational progress and career plans with each student individually
  • Provides individual or group counseling assistance
  • Assists students with attendance, academic, behavioral or adjustment problems, provide additional one on one counseling as needed
  • Collects and reviews pertinent data for local and state reporting
  • Coordinates tours, speakers, college visits, site visits
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by the CTE Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification as a School Counselor

STARTING DATE: September 1, 2024

SALARY: $53,032 (2024-25 Base Salary) - Consideration for additional salary may be granted based upon education and experience

BENEFITS: Membership in the appropriate retirement system, health insurance, sick and personal leave
