Performs a variety of duties to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial statements for all PHC entities (including PHMG, PHC Foundation, and National Regency), including coordinating all close activities, reviewing the financial statements for accuracy and preparing the monthly and annual financial statements. Also responsible for assisting with cash management, budget, audit, tax, regulatory, and other reporting requirements, in addition to assisting, overseeing and mentoring other Accounting staff members.
Responsibilities
Preparation of the annual tax workpapers for the Form 990 returns for the hospitals, ensuring all schedules are completed accurately and timely.
Preparation of the annual corporate tax workpapers for the Form 1120 and related filings for the taxable entities, ensuring all schedules are completed accurately and timely.
Coordination of general ledger and other accounting system upgrades/testing as required.
Analyze current Accounting processes to ensure accurate reporting, efficient information and communication flow and to recommend changes as appropriate.
Maintain knowledge and ability to post all system entries in the GL, including the calculation, release and interface of Lawson allocations, AP interface, and performance of the monthly Epic and legacy patient-accounting system close process.
Responsible for various projects to identify areas for improvement in process and efficiencies.
Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations as needed.
Maintain job specific procedure manual.
Demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, time management and organizational skills
Other various accounting projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
At least 6 years of related accounting experience.
