Accounting Department

The Accounting Department is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the company’s strategic goals. The department manages a broad range of functions, including financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, month-end close activities, financial systems, fixed assets, consolidation and campus-specific financial oversight. By maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data, we enable informed decision-making and uphold ethical standards across all financial activities. We prioritize continuous improvement in processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Our collaborative approach ensures we work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and support to drive the company's strategic objectives.

Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a detail oriented, autonomous, high performing Senior Accountant with a focus on Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to work under the direction of the Senior Director, Accounting & Controller and the Technical Accounting Manager to contribute to the evaluation of accounting standards on various transactions as they occur, the preparation of technical accounting analysis and memoranda, the monitoring of new accounting standards for potential impact, and the preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statements for multiple entities, including the preparation of footnote disclosures.

This position may also be involved with and contribute to the day-to-day accounting activities and the month end close process, on an as needed basis. This individual will also assist with financial audits and participate in improvement initiatives, as needed. This individual must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, have a good understanding of US GAAP, be able to identify accounting issues requiring analysis, be able to research accounting guidance, and be able to analyze such guidance to reach accounting conclusions. The ideal candidate will also be well-organized and experienced with working in a fast-paced and complex environment.

This position will be based on-site at our office in Denver, CO. in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Essential Job Functions

  • Assess technical accounting implications for complex business transactions and prepare written accounting and financial reporting position memos on an as-needed basis for review by management and external auditors
  • Prepare quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statements, including footnote disclosures
  • Perform analysis on financial statements to evaluate overall appropriateness of both reported balances and activity
  • Evaluate new accounting guidance for applicability to the Company’s financial statements

Duties

  • Contribute to non-routine projects such as real estate and business acquisition, debt financing transactions, etc. as needed
  • Assist in the annual audit process
  • Evaluate applicability of new accounting literature and prepare technical accounting memos for complex transactions, including debt and M&A transactions
  • Develop process and accounting policy documentation as needed
  • Contribute to daily and monthly accounting activities on an as needed basis
  • Contribute to the determination of proper accounting treatment between capital expenditure and expense classification for contracts, projects, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with relevant experience required
  • 2 or more years at a major public accounting firm or 4 or more years of experience in an accounting role required
  • CPA license preferred but not required
  • Data Center, Real Estate, or Construction experience is preferred, but not required
  • Skilled at identifying and applying technical accounting guidance and building processes for implementation
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient with Windows and Office 365

Additional Information

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 base plus bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
