We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior AWS DevOps Automation Engineer. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working ET zones.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated AWS DevOps Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions to optimize AWS environments and support software development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support software development teams in an enterprise IT environment, fostering shared ownership of resources, environments, platforms, and tools.
  • Champion DevSecOps practices, with a deep understanding of the path to production flow, branching & merging strategies, unit testing, code quality & security with SonarQube, dependency management, artifact & release management, and workflow orchestration (including test automation, IaC/configuration management, and Telemetry Data Management).
  • Manage daily tasks and prioritize backlogs using JIRA effectively.
  • Utilize Git, GitFlow, and GitOps for version control.
  • Leverage GitHub Actions to automate workflows.
  • Manage and support EKS workloads within an AWS environment.
  • Employ Terraform to provision AWS resources and services efficiently.
  • Utilize ServiceNow to manage IT support issues, incidents, and change requests.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Experience supporting software development teams in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Proven understanding of DevSecOps principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in JIRA for task management and backlog prioritization.
  • Expertise in Git, GitFlow, and GitOps for version control.
  • Experience with automation tools like GitHub Actions and proficiency in Python scripting.
  • Experience managing and supporting EKS workloads in AWS.
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow for IT service management.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Additional skills:

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI).
  • Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker Swarm).
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.

Preferred education and certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • AWS certified DevOps Engineer Professional or AWS certified Developer Associate

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974 to $149,880. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
