Job Description:

Renewance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Battery Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. In this critical role, you will lead the development and production of battery-based products in collaboration with internal and external teams. You will leverage your expertise to drive innovation, ensuring that our battery solutions meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on transformative projects that have a real impact on the future of energy storage.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and production of advanced battery prototypes for second-life applications.
• Collaborate with external consulting firms to integrate their designs and ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct thorough analysis and testing of battery systems to optimize performance, reliability and safety.
• Develop and implement rigorous testing protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of battery projects, from initial concept through prototyping to production, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in battery technology, recycling, and repurposing techniques, integrating new findings into projects.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and product management, to align battery development projects with overall company objectives.
• Develop documentation and reports to support design decisions and project progress.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in battery engineering, with a focus on prototype development and production.
• Proven track record of leading battery development projects and collaborating with external partners.
• In-depth knowledge of battery chemistry (Li-ion), design, and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with battery management systems (BMS) and thermal management solutions.
• Experience with tools and software such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, AutoCAD, and battery testing equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety and performance (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO).
