Senior Clinical Research Scientist

Skye Bioscience is at the forefront of developing CB1 modulating therapeutics to address metabolic disorders. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Scientist to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our R&D efforts, contributing to the advancement of novel research candidates and the execution of clinical biomarker studies. Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, and interpret emerging preclinical and clinical trial data from metabolic studies, including biomarkers, clinical pharmacology, and safety data.
  • Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and materials for external meetings related to Skye’s research and clinical programs.
  • Collaborate with clinical and research teams to develop and implement clinical biomarker strategies for Skye’s clinical studies.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams including R&D Collaborators, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and CMC to ensure timely execution of R&D’s preclinical milestones and clinical biomarker programs.
  • Contribute to the development of presentations, abstracts, publications, and grants related to R&D’s translational studies.
  • Have expertise in clinical development, including writing protocols.
  • Be well-versed in the metabolic space, staying up-to-date with the latest research and reports.
  • Present scientific data accurately and succinctly at industry gatherings, investigational meetings, and regulatory agency meetings.

Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific area (e.g., immunology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or related fields) with 5+ years' experience in a laboratory or clinical research setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of metabolic pathways and associated research models.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing clinical trial data to identify safety and efficacy trends.
  • Strong ability to communicate scientific data effectively across functions and through presentations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and job levels within the company, as well as with external vendors and academic partners.
  • Experience with project management is preferred, particularly in the research field.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience interacting with the IR and locating source data is a plus.
  • Prior experience in clinical development, writing protocols, and working with biomarkers is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with metabolic or immunology research is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Graph Pad Prism.
