Work collaboratively as a part of multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, industrial designers, researchers, interaction designers and prototyping experts
Oversee and guide engineering efforts across multiple programs
Identify potential problems early and suggest options based upon cost, time and requirements
Understand priorities to develop and communicate action plans internally and externally
Contribute engineering knowledge on technical feasibility early in programs and provide manufacturing and commercialization guidance as programs mature
Solve complex technical problems within the bounds of timing and cost constraints
Design, build and test prototypes to characterize performance
Translate the output of concept and prototyping efforts into fully realized, detailed designs while working under design controls
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
5-15 years of professional experience in product development engineering design
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Experience with a range of prototyping and manufacturing methods, especially injection molding
Experienced in managing all technical aspects of device development programs
Experience developing medical or drug delivery devices
Desire to design, build, test, and troubleshoot physical prototypes, including electronics and electromechanics
Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
