JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Information Technology oversees the company’s information technology and computer systems. Their duties include assessing current processes, recommending software upgrades, and helping the executive team determine best technological systems to support organizational strategy. A successful director will have in-depth knowledge of the current and up-and-coming trends in the IT field. The director will also manage and direct the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Hires and trains IT staff.
Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities
Develop goals and strategies to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively.
Help direct and establish IT-related projects.
Monitor changes in the technology sector and recommend ways the company can improve and develop.
Supervise the networks and computer systems in the company to ensure optimal performance.
Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department.
Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
Oversees enterprise resource planning (ERP/SAP) throughout company.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Troubleshoot data related issues and establish regular maintenance.
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals
Good understanding of modern databases, security protocols and information system technologies
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or commensurate experience required; engineering degree, master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in information technology and data management
In depth knowledge of data administration and management processes
At least ten years of experience managing an IT department.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
