Who we are looking for:

VML Health is seeking a Senior Editor (SE) in our New York office. The Senior Editor is heavily involved in the day-to-day management of accounts, overseeing jobs from manuscript to printed piece, and assisting with departmental processes. An SE is invariably the editor of record for drug launches. An SE will manage all aspects of assigned accounts without need for daily supervision; demonstrate leadership qualities/experience; be detail-oriented, with thorough knowledge of assigned account; apply client style, FDA regulations, and AMA requirements to each piece, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all jobs that move through the agency; have mastered all other responsibilities listed under Editor; mentor junior staff.

What you’ll do:

• Manage all aspects of assigned accounts without need for daily supervision.
• Create and oversee implementation of editorial style specific to each account.
• Ensure accuracy of AMA style, grammar, spelling, clarity, usage, punctuation, type and font treatment, placement and accuracy of art, Food and Drug Administration regulations, and individual client style requests.
• Fact-check and edit all work, in alignment with agency process.
• Collaborate with all members of account team, including account executives, creative directors, copywriters, and art directors, to ensure adherence to editorial and client guidelines.
• Act as a training resource for junior editors.
• Maintain comprehensive style manuals.
  
  
  

What you’ll need:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in medical/pharmaceutical copyediting in an advertising agency or pharmaceutical company.
• Detail-oriented, with superior organizational skills and good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent command of language, with strong client/product knowledge and familiarity with FDA regulations regarding Rx drug advertising.
• Well-organized and able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Flexibility to work late/weekends when required
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Comfortable with learning new technologies
  
  
  

***This is a hybrid role with an in-office policy 3 days a week, must be located in a commutable distance from one our offices***

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
