Role Description

As a Senior Manager at Just Whole Care, you'll play a pivotal role leading and executing strategic CalAIM projects that contribute meaningfully to the rapidly evolving, intersecting landscapes of Medi-Cal Managed Care, Child Welfare, Justice Systems, and County Behavioral Health Plans. You will be responsible for overseeing all project phases, from conception and planning to implementation and evaluation. Your expertise with managed care and/or county behavioral health will be invaluable in guiding our clients towards success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies aligned with client goals and industry best practices, including but not limited to securing non-specialty or specialty mental health contracts with Medi-Cal plans.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and payers, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring needs are met within and across delivery and payment systems.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, resource allocation, timeline management, and risk mitigation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare executives, policymakers, providers, and community organizations.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and analytics to inform project strategies and measure impact.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to the future of CalAIM, Medicaid managed care, county BH, child welfare, and justice system reforms nationwide through publications, presentations, and industry events.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth of Just Whole Care and California's impact on high-risk and vulnerable populations.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree: An advanced degree in healthcare administration, public health, public policy, business administration, or a related field (MBA, MPH, MPP) is preferred.
  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience working on strategic clinical or business initiatives (network monitoring/management/expansion, new product/program/policy development or launch, system implementation, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, etc.) within or consulting for a Medi-Cal managed care plan or county mental health plan is a must.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge of Medi-Cal managed care or county mental health plan contracting, regulations, policies, and stakeholders. Experience with Inland Empire Health Plan, LA Care, or the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of finding creative solutions to challenges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
