A well-known publicly traded company in San Mateo is seeking a Senior SEC Financial Reporting Manager with at least 4 years of management experience. Our company is stable and offers excellent training and growth. This position has the potential to be promoted to Director of Financial Reporting within a year, depending on the candidate's experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Review and prepare consolidated financial statements, footnotes and related supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
  2. Coordinate with management, external auditors and other internal resources to enable timely preparation and review of all SEC Filings including Forms 10-K, 10- Q, Proxy, 8-K, etc.
  3. Assist with Company’s technical accounting research and documentation function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC and other regulatory requirements.
  4. Responsible for quarterly dividend pay-out process, monitoring of the Company’s outstanding share count and administration of Company’s share program.
  5. Provide ad hoc reporting to CAO, CFO, and Senior Leadership Team, as needed.
  6. Participate in coordination of various department projects as applicable to continue to build efficiencies.
  7. Review analyses prepared by other team members.
  8. Provides formal supervision to associates within a single functional or operational area.
  9. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
  10. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.
  11. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company values.
  12. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups.
  13. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
  14. Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.



Qualifications:

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Big 4 audit experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years of REIT experience, preferred.
  • Be a dedicated team player who is flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perceptive, self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and know how to prioritize deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
