Job Summary
WFS is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer for the Senior Manager, Ground Operations Support position to join the Ground Operations Support Team, North America. The primary focus will be on improving business processes by leveraging technology, business intelligence to support Ground Operations goals and KPI achievement. The Senior Manager position will also oversee the implementation, maintenance, and training for operational applications and will function as a subject matter expert for those applications. The position will be responsible for providing business intelligence solutions that democratize data across the business, working with team members from operations, data and analytics, and technology, as well as creation/maintenance of reports and dashboards critical to conducting daily operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Business Intelligence principles, is comfortable working with large volumes of data, and possesses the technical expertise to solve complex data challenges.
The Senior Manager Ground Operations Support and Business Intelligence will be responsible for managing a team which supports all our Ground Handling locations in compliance and administrative needs with a focus on data analytics, process improvement, application support and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, & maintain BI solutions, including data models & visualizations
Perform ad hoc analysis & data extractions to resolve reporting issues
Collaborate with business partners, IT, & data governance to develop & standardize enterprise metrics
Work with analysts, engineers, & stakeholders to create new reporting assets
Lead data projects from requirements gathering to production
Develop Python or SQL scripts for analysis & automation
Lead a team of Support Managers, providing mentorship & technical support
Design & implement process improvement solutions using Microsoft tools
Develop training schedules based on station needs
Test new solutions & coordinate UAT with US & Europe teams
Develop & communicate Maintenance/Support Plans for tools
Travel to stations for troubleshooting, requirements gathering, & provide on-site support
Ensure compliance & assist in new user training
Ensure data accuracy & validate operational data
Document & share lessons learned
Perform other duties to support departmental needs
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
2-3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and Power BI Service.
Intermediate proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries.
Intermediate proficiency in DAX for data modeling and calculations.
Continuously improve performance and reliability of reports.
Recommend additional options for reporting and analytics.
Knowledge of data engineering practices, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Snowflake, Azure
Power BI Certifications
Experience in an Agile environment
Experience with Python for data analysis and automation tasks.
CI/CD, Git experience or equivalent
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate and interact effectively at both technical and business level.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Must be flexible for 10% travel which may exceed 5 days at a time.
This position is remote but will require some travel; the ideal candidate is located near a major U.S. airport.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
