Senior Materials Engineer
Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk®) is seeking an energetic and competent individual to enhance the materials engineering and test services group headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) provides services to industries and governments in the U.S. and around the world to assess the consequences and risks associated with potentially catastrophic events including explosions, fires and toxic material releases. Our research and development programs make us a technology leader with the most advanced methodologies and tools to predict potential consequences, analyze risk, and design protection, prevention, and mitigation systems for such catastrophic events.
Candidates for the position should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in materials, metallurgical, or mechanical engineering. A master’s degree or PhD would be preferred. Registered as a professional engineer is required. The candidate should have from 6 to 12 years of experience in establishing mechanical integrity controls, and performing failure analysis, life assessments, and incident investigations.
Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills that will be used when interacting with technical personnel, government agencies, and managers. The candidate should have experience establishing mechanical integrity and inspection programs. The individual should have experience working with various structural materials and understand basic failure mechanisms and fracture behavior.

- Writing and presenting findings from investigations
- Providing legal and consulting services, as needed
- Metal alloy systems
