Senior Metallurgist

Job Description: The Product Metallurgist will ensure the quality and performance of our steel products, collaborating with production, quality assurance, and R&D to optimize metallurgical processes and improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize metallurgical processes.
- Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to meet standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with production to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze failure modes and develop corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to production and quality teams.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Interact with customers and suppliers regarding technical issues and product requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field.
- Experience in the steel manufacturing industry.
- Experience in quality improvement and process optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in metallurgical testing and analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in customer and supplier interactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field.
- Professional certification in metallurgy or materials science.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with CAD and CAM software.
