What You'll Do

  • Assist computer operators and/or system analysts in resolving problems with running computer programs
  • Mentor other PICK programmers
  • Design and maintain solutions between departmental systems; communicate effectively with other departments to understand their support needs
  • Evaluate user needs for new or revised systems
  • Responsible for achieving operational program status within required time parameters and with an acceptable operating performance
  • Develop automated recurring system reports and statements; provide one-off reports and statements as requested
  • Collaborate with IT staff to automate manual processes
  • Provide creative solutions and innovations in work related situations to mitigate risks to project success
  • Produce program and system documentation for systems created within the department

Experience You'll Need

  • 10+ years experience with PICK
  • Expert with PICK BASIC
  • Expert with PICK database systems
  • Expert with PICK TCL
  • Strong Experience with jBASE
  • Experience with UNIX shell basics (any flavor)
  • Experience with EDI
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with ability of doing quick analysis of complex problems with effective and efficient solutions
  • Experience with producing programs and system documentation
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business requirements, system documentation, and technical procedures
