Senior Portfolio & Investment Professional, Private Credit

Position Overview:

Aksia is seeking an experienced private credit professional to join Aksia’s Private Credit Investment team. Our Investment Research team is responsible for identifying potential primary, co-investment and secondary alternative investment opportunities, performing due diligence, proposing investments, and monitoring portfolio holdings along with certain portfolio management activities.

This position includes working with existing and prospective clients on their private credit portfolio construction and management through close partnership with Aksia’s portfolio advisory team, as well as participating in the management of discretionary portfolios. Additional features of the role include risk management, manager/partner evaluation, as well as portfolio analysis and implementation.

This position can be based in Aksia’s New York, Chicago, London, or San Diego offices and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.

Aksia LLC is a specialist investment research and portfolio advisory firm providing alternative investment solutions to institutional investors. Aksia’s private credit platform totals over $106 billion in assets under advisory and management (as of January 31st, 2024). The team invests across the private credit ecosystem including primary funds, co-investments/direct credit, SMAs/JVs and secondary market transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on portfolios’ strategies, managers and construction across the private markets with a focus on private credit
  • Sourcing, screening, and analyzing private credit investments including private funds, direct credits and co-investments
  • Evaluating and presenting views on specific investment opportunities and sectors of the credit markets directly to Aksia clients and prospective clients
  • Developing a deep understanding of the firm’s full investment capabilities across various Private Markets strategies (private credit, private equity, infrastructure, etc.) and methods of access (primary fund commitments, co-investments/directs, SMAs/joint ventures, secondaries, etc.)
  • Delivering world-class investor communications and client deliverables
  • Curating and developing investor messaging, including evaluating and presenting views on specific investment opportunities and sectors of the private markets
  • Authoring private markets focused research
  • Representing Aksia at industry conferences and events

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Private Markets LP (private equity fund of funds, institutional investor, private equity consultant, etc.), experience at a private credit or investment firm, investment banking or related leveraged finance experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the institutional investor landscape within the alternative investment industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Incredible attention to detail
  • Ability to think analytically and critically
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills, especially Excel, Power Point & Word
  • Team player with the ability to effectively manage other professionals
  • Strong work ethic, exhibiting a high degree of initiative, commitment and drive
