The Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Concepts and Architectures) is the essential link between our Customers and engineering teams to define concept of operations, architectures, and requirements for the systems.
Lead assessment of Customer "hard" problems, and define missions & conceptual systems.
Develop advanced system concepts, architectures including functional decomposition.
Develop analytic models, simulations & perform analysis of complex Signal Intelligence Systems.
Develop top-level system Concepts-of-Operation descriptions.
Propose and lead (Principal Investigator) Independent Research and Development projects.
Lead Customer funded technology-mission studies.
Provide subject matter expertise and independent review during program execution.
Direct technical initiatives for future business through concept paper development and RFI/RFP evaluation.
Qualifications
Required:
A Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Substantial use, understanding and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories.
Substantial proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools.
Ability to recognize various architectural patterns, apply them appropriately, understand strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develop architectural variations as necessary.
Strong analytic skills.
Preferred
15+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role
Agile Experience Preferred
Direct experience in core technical discipline of RF signal collection and analysis systems.
Extensive cross-disciplines experience, including hardware, software, reverse engineering, fundamentals of electronic warfare and system integration-test.
Effective written and oral communicator, including strong skills in development of Customer presentations
