Senior Process Safety Specialist

We are recruiting for a Process Safety Specialist for a Global Chemical company in the Beaumont / Port Arthur, Texas area. Relocation is available.

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Specialist to join our global chemical client to ensure the safe operation of their chemical processing facilities. As a Process Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying and controlling hazards associated with the materials handled, chemical processes executed, and physical equipment utilized in their operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide process safety expertise during safety reviews for both new and existing processes.
• Ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and provincial regulations, including Responsible Care® activities.
• Lead process hazard reviews for capital projects and existing units to ensure safe, environmentally sound, and sustainable design and operation.
• Develop and implement process safety programs and culture to enhance the safety of our chemical processing facilities.
• Support (MOC) Management of Change and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the development of preventive measures.
• Lead design reviews for new, existing, and modified processes using tools such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and (MOC) Management of Change.
• Interface with external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, trade associations, and non-governmental organizations to promote company philosophies and leverage benchmarking opportunities.
• Fulfill the role of PSM/RMP Coordinator for this site, with primary support for facility siting related topics.
• Provide expert consultation on process safety issues.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
• Professional certification in Safety preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or direct manufacturing support roles.
• Knowledge and understanding of chemical processing and technologies is highly desirable.
