We are looking for a passionate, seasoned and entrepreneurial leader, with deep product knowledge, to take on the challenge of driving growth and profitability on our core messaging app; Kik. The Product Manager role at MediaLab is unique in that you run a business unit with the P&L ownership, define the overall product vision and strategy as well as execution, and drive a high-performing team to generate user value and revenue growth. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer and works across the organization partnering with Engineering, Legal, Trust & Safety, and Customer Success.
What You’ll Do
Take ownership and accountability of the Kik P&L with a focus on user growth, engagement and retention
Define product strategy and roadmap for user growth, including brand perception improvement, quality of user base and their content, and brand identity
Partner with the Trust & Safety team to manage necessary UGC and regulatory compliance across a US and international consumer base
Establish operational excellence enabling your business unit to scale while remaining lean
Drive continuous, quantifiable KPI improvements through feature development, multivariate testing and other forms of optimizations
Define yearly and quarterly OKRs, partner with the Data team to define appropriate metrics and KPIs and partner with the engineering teams to deliver
Partner with team members to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, market research and reverse engineer competitors to uncover opportunities to improve KPIs and increase EBITDA
Work closely with the Executive team and different departments to achieve corporate goals
What We’re Searching For
5+ years of experience working on consumer facing apps with at least 1-2 years of experience working on UGC products
Entrepreneurial mindset, ownership mentality and drive that is contagious - must be able to be flexible in a growing and fast changing environment
Able to maintain observation and understanding of the ecosystem, locate problems and solve them collaboratively; sensitive to content and understanding of users
Deeply understand the value of UGC, develop content granularity and tagging systems, assist content algorithms to optimize content understanding, and improve the distribution efficiency of UGC
Design strategies to enhance the scale and depth of community interaction, and enhance user retention and activity
Experience driving continuous KPI optimization in a consumer-facing technology property, preferably a multi platform brand
Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps and Confluence)
Outstanding organizational and analytical skills, and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both written, verbal, and presentation
