Streamland Media’s global organization is searching for a Senior Project Manager. This position will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to Human Resources and Information Technology. This role involves managing a cross-functional team, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both HR and IT, with excellent project management skills. 

As the Senior Project Manager, you will directly manage the intake of new project requests, the preparation of evaluation-ready project proposals, and the handoff of approved project initiation documents to project managers in other departments. You will forecast and track the availability of people to do the project work throughout the project life cycle. You will publish monthly, and annual portfolio reporting based on information collected from the project teams, and you will oversee the closure of projects with follow-up reporting to those who approved them.

From time to time, the Senior Project Manager may be required to identify projects that should be frozen or canceled based on criteria set forth by the leadership and/or industry best practices.

While currently out of scope, successful candidates should be comfortable with the possibility that the Project Management Function may be required to develop full life cycle organizational change management in the future. As well, experienced project managers may be required to manage high risk, high visibility projects from time to time.

 Strategy & Planning

  • Be a part of defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Assisting business and technology leaders with articulating new project ideas.
  • Forecasting future resource capacity and reporting on existing resource utilization.
  • Presenting accurate representations of project progress, health, risks, and ongoing challenges.
  • Attending various steering committee and IT Project Management meetings, representing the IT Project Management interests.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

 Acquisition & Deployment

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during project cycle.

 Operational Management

  • Manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Ensuring the completeness and currency of project and portfolio reporting.
  • Validating portfolio-level reporting before alerting senior leadership of its availability.
  • Managing portfolio and project processes to maximize throughput of selected projects.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.        

 Work Conditions

 40-hour work week with on-call availability for major projects.

  • 5% travel required.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.

Required Skills

 Knowledge & Experience

  • Broad experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects.
  • Familiarity with HR software (e.g., HRIS, HCM, ATS – specifically ADP NextGen (Lifion, Workforce Now) and IT applications (SAP, Concur).
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, SmartSheet). 
  • Extensive experience with Corporate IT and HCM projects, processes and workflows.
  • Working technical knowledge of IT and HR systems, capabilities, and organizations.
  • Experience with IT and HR organizational change and operating models.
  • Strong understanding of project, portfolio, waterfall, OCM, and Agile techniques.
  • Familiarity with the functioning of a PMO and steering committee.
  • Experience managing project managers and resources (direct, indirect and matrixed teams).
  • Experience managing, selecting and implementing project management project portfolio dashboards

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in computer science and/or project management or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a technical team.
  • Certifications in Agile and other related project disciplines.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable. 



The listed pay range is the salary or hourly wage range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting.
