Position Description:
Torque Bio is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Sr. Research Associate to work in the in vivo team and as part of a cross-functional team. This individual will play an essential role in our science organization supporting in vivo team efforts, including but not limited to: Analyzing tissue samples, completing a variety of assays to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new therapeutics, and assisting with in vivo studies. This role is laboratory-based and requires exceptional consistency, organization, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills and be adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform qPCR, dPCR, ELISA, and Jess/Western assays.
Extract DNA, RNA, and protein from tissues.
Synthesize cDNA and perform RT-qPCR or RT-dPCR assays.
Document all experiments and associated data in electronic lab notebook according to company policy.
Assist with in vivo study in-life activities.
Perform dosing with common routes of administration and perform isoflurane or injectable anesthesia.
Assist with in-life and terminal sample collections.
Keep organized, accurate study records.
Analyze and prepare data for inclusion in company presentations.
Help maintain freezer and sample inventories for the in vivo team.
Share responsibility in maintaining lab equipment and reagent inventory.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum B.A./B.S. in Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of in vivo and molecular biology research experience
Experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction and dPCR or qPCR (or similar)
Animal study preparation (e.g., ear tag, tattoo, randomization)
Experience with small animal handling, such as dosing via multiple routes (e.g., p.o., i.p., i.v.), body weight collections, euthanasia/carcass disposal, and whole-body perfusion
Expertise is required in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and GraphPad Prism
Knowledge of standard operating procedures in a research laboratory
Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple independent or interdependent workstreams
Practical knowledge of working in BSL-2 lab conditions
Strong documentation practices and familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks
Strong collaborative instinct with good time and resource management skills
Detail oriented, self-motivated, and excited to take on new challenges!
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with bioanalytical assay development is highly desirable
Previous experience with performing in vivo studies in rodent models
Familiarity with AAV studies and associated molecular analyses
ELISAs, Jess and/or Western blot, Northern blot
Candidates local to RTP preferred

Compensation:
Salary: A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for these full-time positions is $80,580 - $100,725 (Senior Research Associate). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range(s) displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training. At Torque Bio, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
