Senior Tax Manager

Leadenhall Search & Selection is actively seeking Senior SALT Tax Managers.

The Role:

• Review complex tax returns for privately held companies across various industries, with a preference for experience in C-Corporations, S-Corporations, and Partnerships.
• Collaborate closely with clients to identify effective tax planning and risk management opportunities.
• Assist in federal and state audit examinations and monitor RAR adjustments for their state tax implications.
• Analyze potential federal and state tax incentives and credits to maintain a low Effective Tax Rate (ETR).
• Develop filing methodologies by analyzing state tax sourcing of receipts for various jurisdictions.
• Maintain awareness of compliance risks beyond traditional tax obligations in the financial industry.
• Assist in resolving sales and use tax controversies, if any.
• Conduct tax risk assessments and develop structural assessment plans for mitigation.
• Review state tax provisions and true-ups.
• Engage in industry efforts and programs with colleagues and advisors.
• Assume responsibility for client contact, internal coordination, staffing requirements, administrative documentation, and preparation timing for engagements.
• Collaborate with senior personnel in planning and researching complex tax issues, and provide clients with optimal solutions.
• Manage special projects and oversee the activities of associates and senior associates.
• Develop and maintain quality client relationships.
• Cultivate skills to attract new clients, market the company’s services and products, and facilitate business expansion with existing clients.

The Person:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and clients.
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to department staff who are not direct reports.
• Specialization in State and Local Tax (SALT) work.
