Senior Technical Writer, Web

Dom & Tom is looking for a contractor-based Senior Technical Writer to join our team in our Client’s New York City office.

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer. He/she is able to convey technical concepts in simple, clear instructions with detailed images such as charts or diagrams. He/she will be intimately familiar with the product features and functionalities. You will be creating, revising, and converting content, as well as complying with overall document structure, defined formats, and layouts.

Desired subject matter experience:

• Financial institution experience; capital market experience is optimal
• Data connectivity experience
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Convert legacy technical specifications to HTML-based delivery using WordPress and Markdown
• Review and proofread technical documents that are already created to identify gaps and obsolete information. Work with subject matter experts to fill gaps
• Perform technical edits of your own and your peers’ documents
• Document new product features and create release notes
• Manage and revise documents to ensure consistency of style, structure, layout, and format
• Comply with established guidelines and procedures
• Write informational product materials
• Handle ad hoc writing requests as needed to support the Product Team
• Leverage internal tools to innovate ways to streamline repetitive steps
• Contribute to strategy discussions for communicating product features in a global environment
• Create and edit API documentation using industry best practices and standards
• Provide input on text strings for a web-based user interface for optimal clarity and a positive user experience
  
  

Additional preferences:

• Professional writing and editing training—coursework, diploma, or degree in technical writing, business writing, or similar
• Experience working in a technology start-up style environment
• Experience in a Lean/Agile SDLC development environment
• Experience with WordPress and Markdown
• Familiarity with content management best practices
• Cooperative team player able to pivot, manage multiple tasks, and jump in to assist Product Team members when needed
• Strong capability to take initiative and follow through

We are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation. This position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $65 to $100, 40 hours per week, based on your experience and qualifications.
