SUMMARY: Perform a variety of duties to prepare to ship and receive finished goods and raw materials in accordance with specified requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with and understand work orders and purchase orders, written and verbal instructions for shipping and receiving a variety of materials
Prepare freight in accordance with work orders and purchase orders.
Verify all incoming or outgoing freight is proper material weight, container, label, palletizing, and wrapping as specified on work order or purchase order
Verify all freight and notify Production Office of any inventory variance
Resolve or bring any problems to attention of department supervisor
Complete work orders and purchase orders by recording quantities, lot numbers, and any other required information on the work order or purchase order
Load and unload trucks using forklift, pump jacks and barrel handling equipment
Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, damage, questionable conditions of material to department supervisor
Maintain work areas, warehouse aisles, main floor, and facility grounds and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition
Upon completion of daily production, record completed work orders and purchase orders on respective logs and distribute freight to specified areas in warehouse and grounds
Performs other related duties as required or directed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic reading and math skills required to allow accurate processing of orders and following of department procedures
Ability to manage priorities and workflow with acute attention to detail
Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Hazardous Waste and Material shipping experiance preferred
Train as per Shipping category in Procedure # SAFETY-TRAIN training grid. Retrain every 3 years in Hazardous Waste Handling
Review department SOPs with Supervisor
Proficient on MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Fourth Shift experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Continually required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear
Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
Continually work near moving mechanical parts
Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, or kneel
Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 and at times more than 50 pounds with mechanical assistance
Use lifting equipment and various types of fork trucks (training provided and required)
Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
Occasionally exposed to loud noises
