What is JetZero?

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring an Shop Assistant. You will be responsible for maintaining JetZero's facilities, tools and equipment, vehicles and assisting in fabrication needs

JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Fabrication Manager.

What You'll Do

• This position will assist in facility maintenance, general housecleaning (cleaning, minor repairs / improvements), fabrication support of production parts and other tasks as required
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. Must be able to follow JetZero’s “Clean as you Go” mindset, always ensuring a safe, neat and orderly work area
• Work independently as well as in a team environment depending upon the teams’ needs each day and follow processes and guidance as required
• Assist technicians in the fabrication department and engineering teams in general
• Assist in all areas around the facility requiring support: deliveries, receiving, loading and unloading of vehicles
• Forklift and/or scissor lift operation
• Assist in the maintenance, repair and cleaning of fleet vehicles
• Perform light driving duties – pick up and drop off parts and supplies as directed

Experience

• Highschool Diploma/GED
• Forklift and/or scissor lift experience a plus
• Experience in working shop environment (transportation, auto, aviation, etc.)
• Clean driving record
