Position reports to:           Production Manager

Summary:    

The Shrink Wrap Machine Operator will package finished products using an automated shrink-wrap machine.

Job Duties/Responsibilities (The “What”):

• Set up and operate shrink wrap units. Set up includes heating up the unit to temperature, setting system to tray dimensions, and setting conveyor speed.


• Operates shrink-wrap machine to package products.


• Consults production schedule to determine products to be shrink-wrapped during shift.


• Performs minor adjustments on machine to accommodate different products to be wrapped.


• Sorts and counts unwrapped products and ensures they are wrapped correctly.


• Inspects and removes defective or damaged products.


• Transports wrapped products to shipping area.


• Performs basic maintenance on the shrink-wrap machine.


• Notifies supervisor or other appropriate staff when supplies need to be reordered.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to operate shrink-wrap machine and adjust computer controls.


• Ability to follow instructions.


• Ability to read equipment manual.


• Able to lift up to 40lbs


• Continuous bending and lifting


• Fast paced environment


• Basic math skills.
