ABOUT THE ROLE

ADWEEK is looking for a Social Media Editor to join our Editorial team, reporting directly to the Director of Social. In this role, you will be responsible for daily posting and scheduling on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Threads. As the Social Media Editor, you will collaborate with various teams within ADWEEK to launch monthly magazine covers, digital packages, promote daily editorial content, and cover live events and conferences.


We are looking for someone with experience growing social media pages and engaging with online audiences. Strong copywriting and storytelling skills are essential, along with the ability to create compelling SEO/social headlines and an eye for captivating visuals. A sense of humor and enjoyment of memes is a must! You should also be capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

SPECIFICALLY, YOUR IMPACT WILL BE BASED ON

  • Develop content for various channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok.
  • Assist with developing ADWEEK's short-form video strategy.
  • Enhance ADWEEK’s editorial stories, podcasts, and marketing materials with captivating copy.
  • Provide live coverage of ADWEEK’s events on social media platforms.
  • Manage daily community interactions across all platforms, responding to comments, answering direct messages, and engaging with trending topics.
  • Monitor key performance metrics across platforms to optimize performance and guide strategic decisions.
  • Produce organic social content that is educational, humorous, and aligned with the brand.


It would be a plus if you:

  • Are passionate about the marketing community
  • Have worked in a newsroom previously
  • Are familiar with ad agency life


WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • 3-5 years of experience running social media for brands or agencies
  • Strong news judgment and excellent writing and copy-editing skills
  • An eye for graphic design (Canva will be your best friend)
  • Experience with social media schedulers and analytics tools preferred (Later, Meta Business Suite, Talkwalker, Sprout Social, Buffer, Tweetdeck, Hootsuite etc.)
  • Deep understanding of pop culture, memes and TikTok trends
  • Experience creating short-form video content
  • Your curious, funny, and creative


ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Location: ADWEEK is based in Midtown Manhattan. The position will require you to work in a hybrid capacity.
  • Salary: up to $65,000
  • The salary range provided reflects the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The final compensation offered will be determined by various factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and location. ADWEEK is headquartered in New York City, and the salary specified is tailored for candidates residing within the New York tri-state area.
