Position Overview:

We are a rapidly growing Healthcare technology startup backed by Series B funding, making significant strides in revolutionizing healthcare with technology. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated hands-on Software Engineering Manager with a strong background in Node and Go backend development, AWS experience, technical leadership, roadmap planning, and team building for our healthcare startup. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and growing our engineering team, overseeing the development of our software products, and driving technical excellence.


Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team. Set technical direction, establish best practices, and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Roadmap Planning: Work closely with the product management team to define the technical roadmap and prioritize development initiatives. Translate business requirements into actionable engineering plans and deliverables.
  • System Architecture: Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure backend architectures leveraging AWS services. Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support the product's growth and performance requirements.
  • Cloud App Development: Leverage your expertise in Node and Go programming languages to lead the development of scalable and efficient server-less backend systems. Collaborate with the team to design, implement, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • AWS Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure and services. Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of our applications on the AWS platform. 
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 6 engineers including backend, front-end and architect. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting their growth and professional development.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design to ensure successful execution of projects. Monitor project timelines, identify risks, and proactively address any issues that may arise.
  • Quality Assurance: Champion software quality and implement processes for code review, testing, and deployment automation. Ensure adherence to quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and user guides. Foster a culture of documentation within the team.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in Go programming language and experience with building scalable backend systems.
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
