The Role

The Permutive Solutions/Sales Engineering team is an innovative, curious and creative team of problem solvers, at the heart of the Permutive business. The team helps leading publishers understand how Permutive's technology can help them build a powerful and unique data strategy.

The Solutions/Sales Engineering team works closely with various teams across the business, connecting Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering. Your expertise in technology, business consulting, and sales is leveraged every day to drive innovation and new business. As a technical expert, you and the Sales team bridge the gap between customer goals and our technology.

The team is responsible for delivering strategic technical solutions so our customers can derive maximum value from Permutive. You and the Sales team will also work closely with our more innovative customers to understand how they're delivering ROI and explore their ideas for new use cases and features. Sales Engineers are experts on the Permutive platform, seeking opportunities for future development and feeding these back to our Product and Engineering teams.

This role requires you to be in our New York office a minimum of 2 days per week. You will be required to meet with customers and internal teams regularly.

What you'll be doing...

  • Work as a true partner in the sales cycle, predominantly with the Sales Directors and leadership team to collaboratively sell to new customers of Permutive
  • Accelerate deals by communicating and storytelling highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive-level decision-makers.
  • Bring our prospects on a journey with Permutive by producing and delivering tailored demos of Permutive's platform.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Engineering, Product, Support, and Customer Success to provide voice of the field feedback
  • Become an expert by being up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and industry trends
  • Win Proof of Values through ownership of POVs during the sales process with prospects by partnering with your Sales teams.
  • Build confidence with the prospects close to signature by scoping and delivering SOWs to capture their needs and Permutive's ability to deliver on them
  • Act as the trusted expert in the room for prospects during the sales process

What you'll need…

Sales Ability

  • An excellent communicator and storyteller with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You drive confidence and establish trust with all levels of an organization, from individual contributors to C-suite executives.
  • Experience strategically running and driving sales cycles across multiple quarters. You are process-driven and have refined your craft of bringing sales cycles to a successful close.
  • You are a self-starter and be prepared for some travel (you will cover all of North America)

Technical Ability

  • Technical curiosity - You love to pick up new technologies and tools and love to solve big problems. You are also someone who equally enjoys sharing their knowledge with others to uplevel those around you.
  • An understanding of the full web tech stack (HTML, JavaScript, REST APIs)

Industry knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience working on sales cycles within an AdTech, Data Management Platform, Customer Data Platform, or Data Warehouse environment.

What we are offering…

We take a structured, objective approach to salary-setting, which is based on market information, our compensation strategy, and your experience and capability as assessed through our interview process. For a typical candidate who meets our requirements, we pay a base salary between $145,000 to $165,000.

Our Bonus Structure...

If you join Permutive as a Sales Engineer with a base salary of $145,000 and reach 100% quota attainment in a year, your OTE for that year will be around $181,250. The true earning potential is significantly higher as your potential to earn is uncapped, 100% quota attainment is the minimum expectation for our Sales Engineers.
