Our client is a global world-class leader in the manufacturing of high-quality color cosmetics, skincare, haircare, bath & Body care, OTC, and Nutritional supplements. This position will Coordinate and manage “day-to-day” formulation lab activities in support of the business needs.

REQUIREMENTS

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and/or equivalence in a science-related field ( Masters Degree preferred)

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in color cosmetics formulation or a combination of experience and relevant education

· Must Have Over-the-counter experience “OTC” which will coincide with FDA experience

· Skincare experience is a must

SCOPE

· Develop and replicate personal care formulation by due dates. Manage and coordinate day-to-day lab regulatory requirements for product development

FUNCTIONS

· Research & formulation development of skincare, body care, Hair care and OTC products

· Ensure effective communication coordination and communication with Pilot and Quality

· Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

· Ensure that customers’ expectations are met/exceeded

· Assign work to Lab technician

· Manage “day-to-day” projects, based on product briefs and development requests

· Assess project feasibility and assign work to lab technicians/chemists based on the degree of complexity and skills required

· Keep schedule for submissions to marketing, formula evaluation, pilot schedule, stability, safety testing, etc.

· Ensure all samples required per project are provided to the customer

· Negotiate timing and project-related aspects with other teams including formulations and project management

· Keep a clean record of formulation in the lab notebook

· Complete COAs (Certificate of Analysis) for new formulas

· Provide Formulas on time

· Assist Pilot with new formulations

· Work closely with Quality Control

· Assist in maintaining the introduction of new raw materials to a minimum

· Responsible for successful R&D contributions

· Communicate to the direct supervisor any issue related to project feasibility

· Interface with contractors and suppliers

· Ensure effective coordination and communication with Marketing and Sales Department

· Interact with Process Engineers, Production, Purchasing and Quality Control Department

· Assist Marketing/Sales with technical expertise and make joint visits as needed to meet existing or new customers

· Maintain laboratory safety standards

· Perform routine analytical and physical tests

· Ensure that customers’ expectations are met/exceeded

· Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
