Position Title: Sr. Database Developer
Location Information: Hybrid - Addison, TX
- Direct hire with no sponsorship
- Must currently reside in the Addison, TX area and willing to work on location 3 days per week.
The Sr. Database Developer will be responsible for designing and building databases/data warehouses to store and manage healthcare claims and financial data. This position will analyze data, develop, test, and implement processes to load it, and assist with reporting. This person will have a strong understanding of RDBMS/Data Warehouse concepts, along with knowledge of claims or financial data.
Position Responsibilities:
- Analyze healthcare data, architect and design data models, and create databases/data warehouses
- Design and develop ETL processes to load data to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
- Implement, schedule, monitor, and support all related processes, applications, and databases
- Build indexes and fine-tune queries to ensure performance
- Collaborate closely with reporting team to create data mart for reporting and analysis
- Perform advanced data analysis, identify issues and gaps, and provide insights
- Implement and support Master Data Management processes
- Ensure flexibility, scalability, consistency, and quality in solutions
- Follow best practices for development, QA, deployment, source code management
- Manage source code, conduct code reviews, and test
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in designing/modeling and building data warehouses and data marts
- 5+ years' experience building stored procs, tables, views, functions, etc. in MS SQL Server
- 2+ years' experience working with healthcare claims or financial data
- Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, technologies, and tools
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand, discuss, and document complex data models
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to manage and complete multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
