The Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for managing the preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual consolidated US GAAP financial statements and Press Release for filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), assisting with technical accounting projects and maintaining the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Consolidate divisional reporting templates and compile quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statements for filing with the SEC, including MD&A, and other sections as applicable
Planning and execution of external filings utilizing Workiva platform, including XBRL tagging and coordination of financial and non-financial information from cross-functional stakeholders, including legal, tax, HR, compensation committee and marketing
Preparation of MD&A and press release sections of SEC filings through coordination with investor relations and FP&A finance groups
Supervise the work of divisional accounting and other personnel and review controls documentation, as necessary
Perform accounting research and analysis of new transactions, business initiatives and new accounting pronouncements and document the appropriate accounting treatment under US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and IFRS
Assist with transaction accounting, business combinations and step-up acquisitions as necessary
Assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities performed by the external auditors
Maintain, document and improve the company’s internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with SOX requirements, including IPE requirements
Work with the divisions to respond to questions and implement process improvements in order to create efficiencies and reduce timeframes for deliverables in the financial close and reporting processes
Assistance with other complex accounting activities, including lease accounting using the CoStar lease accounting system, system migrations, earnings per share, equity accounting, debt, derivatives, investments etc.
Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects including acquisition due diligence activities, integration of newly-acquired businesses, internal controls projects and preparation of presentations, supplemental schedules and analyses for senior management
Assist with financial planning & analysis projects and deliverables, including budgeting, forecasting, capital management and other deliverables to support internal reporting and planning
Support divisional and corporate accounting close, consolidation and other activities, as necessary
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience
Experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm, preferably on publicly traded clients
US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred, SEC and IFRS experience is a plus
Experience using HFM and Workiva or other web-based financial reporting applications preferred
Experience with SOX is a plus
Solid background and understanding of accounting principles, including the preparation of financial statements and technical accounting experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work is required
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well both independently and in a team, environment is required
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively work with cross-functional global teams
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
The normal hours of work will be 8:30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday through Friday, but due to the nature of the business, these hours and days may vary, and the role requires the employee to be flexible as the position demands.
Must have the ability to travel occasionally both domestic and international.
Required Experience
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
BS in Accounting or related field required, Masters preferred
CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
