TITLE: Sr. Manager-Master Data Management
LOCATION: Westchester, IL
REPORTS TO: Director – Global Commercial/GTM Digital Partner and Data Governance
Primary Function
The Sr. Manager-Master Data Management will lead the global optimization and enhancement of our customer and material domains and processes utilizing digital technology solutions with support of external partners to implement Ingredion’s MDM global strategy. With a deep understanding of both optimizing and cleansing MDM data, management of data governance councils, development of global data policies and procedures while supporting digital partners in the implementation of a global MDM tool. Audit and analysis of MDM activities verse policies will be critical to the role. Material and customer master data matched with Ingredion process knowledge is a key element of the role. You will be charged in identifying, designing, and implementing MDM strategies that enable efficiency, agility, and competitiveness to achieve our business objectives. The position demands a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to drive initiatives that enhance and prepare Ingredion’s global data needs.
Core Responsibilities
Leading Ingredion’s Data Governance Framework: Lead in the development, communication and adoption of global data practices, policies and standards at both a technical and functional level. Be an advocate to the business organization to ensure MDM best practices become embedded in the organization and are actively included as a key function of future business and DTS projects.
Leading Ingredion’s Data Governance Activities: Provide leadership to Ingredion business and data owners to ensure focus on maintaining high quality governance activities including data quality assessments, data cataloguing, data usage review, stewardship of high value attributes and security of data while ensuring ethical data use and capture.
Lead Ingredion’s Data Governance Compliance: Own the monitoring, reporting and communication of MDM performance and compliance against Ingredion’s data policies and procedures. Align with Ingredion business and data owners to ensure focus on maintaining high quality governance activities including data quality assessments, data cataloguing, data usage review, stewardship of high value attributes and security of data while ensuring ethical data use and capture.
Technical: Responsible for managing and working with technical resources on the deployment, configuration, development of Ingredion’s MDM authoring tool is aligned with agreed global policies and procedures. Analyze existing management systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and integration with new and existing technologies. Responsible to work on integrating disparate systems to ensure seamless information flow across the global MDM function. Direct the design and implementation of sophisticated management systems (Profisee), ensuring seamless integration with other critical business systems to enhance overall operational efficiency and data integrity.
Project Management: Participate in digital technology projects, ensuring adherence to MDM policies and procedures.
Training and Support: Assist in the development of training materials and conduct sessions for end-users on new systems and technologies. Provide ongoing support and updates to ensure systems remain effective over time. Mentor data/business analysts and cross-functional team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the capture, storage and use of data and ensuring solutions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, both domestically and globally.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to foster innovation within the data owner organization. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and optimizing business processes and digital technology applications.
User Adoption: Support the wider business and data teams to ensure adoption of MDM best practices within Ingredion.

- Establish an enterprise-wide data governance strategy that includes master data management, data catalog, and data quality guidelines.
- Based on the strategy, devise a data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality.
- Ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s data assets.
- Collaborate with data and business owners to establish policies, standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, and related tools to ensure the organizations data is appropriate, accurate, secure, and reliable.
- Devise and implement a roadmap for the implementation of master data management with the MDM tool supported by the organization.
- Develop, review and monitor DG metrics to assess performance and effectiveness of the Data governance program.
- Support data domain councils and working groups to understand the processes being impacted.
- Lead the implementation of the collection and documentation of data dictionaries, data lineage and identifying gaps in the process, etc.

Qualified Candidates Will Have
- Demonstrated leadership in the analysis, implementation, and optimization of MDM global Framework and activities and related applications like Profisee, or similar MDM tools.
- Demonstrated experience in MDM programs involving major applications like SAP, SFDC, Workday, Financial consolidation, Supply Chain Planning, manufacturing systems Tracegains etc.
- Expertise in advanced customer and material management.
- Mastery of MDM frameworks, activities and implementations, post implementation management.
- Exceptional strategic, analytical skills, with the ability to lead complex projects under tight timelines.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a history of successful stakeholder management, working in a global matrixed organization, and team mentorship.
- Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, agility, and delivering tangible business results.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of proven experience in a Digital Technology Systems Master Data role, with extensive experience in business operations and technology implementations.
- Experience managing data governance professionals, setting goals, ensuring high-quality work output, and providing feedback, along with the ability to inspire and empower team.
- Experience with SQL queries.
- Experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, etc. and Big Data/Cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, Google Big Query, Databricks, AWS, Cloudera, etc.
- Experience with unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data
- Experience with Business Intelligence/ Reporting tools such as Power BI
- Proficient with desktop tools (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to successfully execute projects.
- Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines efficiently and effectively.
