About The Opportunity

The Sr. Manager, Network and Caching Engineering plays a pivotal role in leading and contributing to the success of the team. This role involves managing networking (edge, backbone, and data center), caching, load balancing, and network security across our global enterprise cloud. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering these services at an enterprise scale, with a strong background in infrastructure software engineering practices emphasizing automation and scalability. They should also have a proven track record of operating and maintaining an enterprise-level cloud platform with a high level of availability (99.99%+), along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Provide overall technical direction and strategic leadership for the delivery of highly available and scalable network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with cloud engineering, platform engineering, and product teams to ensure scalability ahead of business needs. Support and troubleshoot issues related to scalability, availability, performance, product, and infrastructure in production environments.
  • Implement automated configuration and deployment processes to improve network functionality, availability, and performance.
  • Produce and enhance existing processes and documentation.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code for both public and private clouds using industry best practices.
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of network infrastructure using rich telemetry data.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship to new resources, and support career development within the team.

Skills And Experience We Value

  • 5+ years leading within a global SaaS environment designing and deploying cloud network infrastructure at scale across both public and private cloud infrastructures.
  • 3+ years’ experience in cloud automation using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent technologies as both an individual contributor and leader.
  • Fluency in Azure Cloud Networking and core internet protocols such as BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and routing across distributed networks.
  • Deep knowledge of core network infrastructure, caching, load balancing, network security, compute, and database technologies including SQL Server, MongoDB, and Oracle.
  • Understanding of auto-scaling, self-updating, self-healing networks including managing change control and configuration management across a global cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong Program/Project and people management experience. Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute competing priorities.
  • Ability to balance the needs for exceptionally high availability, performance, and scalability while reducing costs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to lead discussions about complex solution design tradeoffs and drive conflict resolution.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, priding yourself on getting things done with a high level of quality. Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Certifications from AWS, Azure, or GCP are a bonus.
