Summary

This person will play a key role in designing and leading enterprise transformation as the Company transitions from developmental to a commercial stage. This individual will be responsible for managing various functional projects within the commercialization process, which will develop the overall governance across functional programs within the Company. As a strategic role and key player for the organization, this position will closely collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, and be prepared to tackle a broad selection of challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute in the development of overall strategic planning and implementing market access strategies (assessing landscape, identifying barriers, and conducting market research) with various department stakeholders.
  • In cooperation with functional experts, create and maintain the cross-functional commercial launch readiness and launch plan (including marketing, operations, sales, market access, external communications, medical affairs, manufacturing, etc.), map key activities, functional milestones and timing, identify risk and lead development of mitigation/contingency plans necessary to deliver the project in full, on-time and on-budget.
  • Work effectively with relevant departments and management to devise brand and overall launch strategy; effectively conceptualize and deliver innovative ideas in preparation for launch readiness.
  • Help formulate optimized pricing and reimbursement strategies; recognizing consumer value for patients, payers, and other relevant market players.
  • Establish financial forecasting of the new product portfolio and collaborate cross-functionally with the finance department for Company budgeting purposes.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively anticipate issues impacting the launch, working with the functional groups to develop contingency plans and communicate risks and contingencies to management to ensure the project critical path is managed Develop and maintain the launch planning calendar that identifies critical decision points, team events and milestones.
  • Summarize and communicate routine launch readiness updates across internal functions, commercial leadership, and as needed to collaborators and agencies.
  • Organize and facilitate launch team meeting topics/agendas, manage team members and meeting attendees based on agreed upon structure, take meeting minutes, track meeting decisions and issues, and follow-up action items.
  • Communicate program and project plans to ensure a mutual understanding by stakeholders and team members. Take action/escalation to remove barriers in a timely and effective manner. Report progress and ensure full visibility and support.
  • Challenge the product launch team to constantly improve decision making to ensure the best possible launch for products.
  • Manage the critical path of the project and key project risks.
  • Regularly monitor market trends and product performance data for internal and external reporting initiatives; stay continuously informed of industry developments and competitor activities.
  • Engage with external stakeholders; develop strong relationships and advocate for the value of future Company products.
  • Serve as the primary contact person for the day-to-day management for the launch plan.
  • Provide daily operational, strategic planning and communications support to the Strategic Planning department lead; perform other operational ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, marketing, or finance; MBA/graduate level degree preferred.
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or related consulting work directly with sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior commercial launch experience, including strategy.
  • Profound knowledge of pharmaceutical development, including the necessary hands-on experience in the successful planning and execution relating to the launch of commercial pharmaceutical products.
  • Cell/gene therapy and/or CDMO experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills required; experience in the use and understanding of the critical value of technology in planning, managing milestones and integrating interdependencies within an organization. MS project experience required. PMP certification is a plus.
  • Resilience, flexibility and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task several objectives in parallel and to work independently with an elevated level of accountability.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and effectively integrate with external collaborators to drive projects/programs forward in a matrixed environment.
  • Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic, growing environment, while providing clear direction to team members.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to lead as a change agent to promote flexibility, creativity, and accountability.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build strong working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work in a virtual setting/across time zones, (i.e., making effective use of communication tools (MS Teams, WebEx, and video conferencing, etc.).
  • Extensive experience and comfortability in creating and delivering presentations in a professional environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and other technology tools
