About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on candidate to join our team as a Staff Accountant. This opportunity requires a candidate with an accounting background, high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and an enthusiastic attitude. Candidates must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, thrive in a highly driven environment, enjoy learning new skills, procedures, and systems, and have an overall desire to contribute to company growth.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin metro, California, Chicago metro, Connecticut, Dallas metro, Denver metro, Houston metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington DC metro.

In this role, you will:

• Perform various GL month-end close activities
• Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Review invoices and ensure they are accounted for accurately
• Perform fixed asset account reconciliations and reviews
• Assist with audits
• Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations
• Pursue process improvement and automation of existing processes
• Ad hoc projects
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  
  
  

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree
• CPA or interest in obtaining CPA
• 1+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Excellent analytical and technical skills including proficiency in US GAAP
• Intermediate excel skills
• Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
• Must be a fast learner, and multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude
• Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of operational accounting processes
• Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
• Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes
• Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  
  
  

An ideal candidate also has:

• Public accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$47,898—$64,400 USD
