About The Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Student Progression and Development Tutor to join our team at Northumberland College, Kirkley Hall Campus. As a land-based college, we are dedicated to providing high-quality education and training in a variety of land-based subjects, including agriculture, horticulture, animal care and equine care. In this role you will play a crucial part in supporting our students’ progress and personal development, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
The Role Includes
Providing one to one and group support for students focusing on their academic progress, personal development and career aspirations.
Attendance monitoring and action planning for improvements
Creating and delivering workshops
Collaboration with academic staff and student support services to identify and address individual student needs
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders
Assist with the coordination of student events, such as career fairs, guest speaker sessions and industry skills.
About The Candidate
Candidates should possess a minimum of a Level 3 qualification, ideally in a relevant industry specialism, and a minimum of GCSE 4/Level 2 in Math and English. Previous experience of working in an educational setting would be beneficial. Candidates require excellent organisational skills. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, staff and external stakeholders. Knowledge of land-based industry and an understanding of the challenges it brings would be beneficial.
