The tutor will work with individual students and groups of students to determine levels of understanding, answer questions, and help students to understand subject matter. Applicants must have passed the subject with a B grade or higher and must provide a faculty recommendation or transcript from the institution where they are/were enrolled.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a normal office setting, in an open reception area. Travel between buildings on campus is possible; occasional weekend and evening work during can be expected. Deadlines, disturbances of workflow, and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the job’s essential functions.

Job Duties
- Complete required tutor training.
- Provide tutoring services in a one-on-one and group setting.
- Help students clarify course expectations and prepare for tests.
- Share strategies for student success during tutoring sessions
- Tidy work areas.
- Maintain electronic records.
- Assist with departmental duties and workshops as assigned.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student population verbally and in writing.
- B grade or higher in subject area.
