Summary: This position is a direct report to the Operations Manager and is based in our Andover, MA plant. This role is responsible for ensuring manufacture-to-specification purchase orders are executed to quality, schedule, and cost expectations. Managing the process from receipt of customer purchase orders to full invoicing of the performed scope of work. The incumbent will coordinate stakeholders both internal and external in the provision of order fulfillment with key departments being production, customers, input material suppliers as well as subcontracted services.

Major Responsibilities

  • Conducts the purchase order acknowledgment review process.
  • Conducts contract review and assesses the value of new or renegotiated contracts leading the process of identifying cost savings/avoidance opportunities.
  • Conducts the order preparation, release of work orders, and invoicing of PO and is the single point of contact to customers throughout the order process including monitoring and follow-up of time schedule.
  • Work with other departments to establish timelines, project plans, and agreements and ensure that they are in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for change orders and follow-on business opportunities with customers and sub-contractors.
  • Coordinate and communicate dates for shipment between internal teams and vendors.
  • Vendor management is inclusive of gathering proposals, pricing, and placing purchase orders on vendors.
  • Assist in managing purchase orders by communicating, tracking, and mitigating issues related to vendors and subcontractors.
  • Provide the oversight of ordering, tracking, and inventorying of all materials needed for order fulfillment.
  • Continuously monitor vendor/contractor performance to comply with the various quality accreditations system requirements.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure projects are on track and flowing smoothly.

We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following Qualifications

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Education: BS degree in Engineering or Logistics preferred. Appropriate job experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management or a related field preferred.
  • Must have strong technical aptitude, particularly with material specifications and drawings.
  • Proficiency in the formation and administration of (sub)contracts, including bidder pre-qualification, a compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring the performance of contractors, back-charge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, and other related steps.
  • Demonstrated leadership and success in building strong customer relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time and complete them on time delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to hold others accountable, engaged, and on task; set clear performance standards; resolve performance issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and influence and persuade others.
