Talent Acquisition Business Partner

The Talent Acquisition Business Partner plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and enabling Sage’s Employer of Choice talent acquisition strategy in the U.S.. This exceptional opportunity requires the ideal candidate to have proven experience in defining efficient recruiting processes to support both exempt and non-exempt hiring needs. They will report to the AVP, U.S. Human Resources on the People & Culture team. The position builds partnerships, engages with global counterparts, and contributes to DEI and People & Culture initiatives to attract diverse top talent.

An exceptionally experienced professional for this role will have proven experience proactively identifying staffing needs, developing effective talent acquisition strategies, and leading initiatives to attract and acquire diverse and skilled top talent. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in relationship building, full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and pipeline management, to ensure a trusted, positive, and highly productive experience for candidates and hiring managers through high-touch service.

Key Accountabilities & Essential Functions

  • Develop talent acquisition strategies that align with Sage's goals and objectives. Partner with leaders and hiring managers to understand hiring needs and forecast future talent requirements.
  • Define, document, and maintain consistent and compliant recruiting processes, apply continuous improvement / lean techniques to evaluate and improve full-cycle recruiting processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer, and support during the pre-hire and onboarding process.
  • Utilize available recruiting platforms and tools to attract a diverse pool of top talent.
  • Oversee the administration, document processes, and enable a positive end-user experience of the ATS (Team Tailor), ensuring its effective use throughout the recruiting process.
  • Manage relationships with external recruiters and agencies, including executive search firms.
  • Support employer branding initiatives to further spotlight Sage’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to actively network, source talent, streamline recruitment, and stay informed about industry trends and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with HRBP and hiring manager to ensure job descriptions are created or updated, and craft effective job ads. Identify knowledge, skills (including adjacent skills), abilities, experiences, and aptitudes.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and Total Rewards on compensation analysis, posting ranges and offers.
  • Provide training support to managers on the applicant tracking system / recruitment processes and developing/formulating interview questions.
  • Identify and leverage sourcing/networking tools to fill positions with diverse top talent (including diverse slate approach), using modern recruiting techniques in candidate recruitment, and maintain a database of qualified academic publishing professionals.
  • To further Sage's DEI strategy, enhance our sourcing and recruitment strategies. This includes attracting diverse talent, promoting Sage as the Employer of Choice, and building relationships with various organizations.
  • Identify, track, analyze, and publish Talent Acquisition metrics, recruiting activity, DEI reporting, and maintain/collaborate on required compliance and/or hiring benchmarks reports (e.g., OFCCP, AAP, SB1162 CRD, etc.)
  • Maintain strong knowledge of company policies, procedures, and programs as employment law including federal, state, and local as appropriate.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a progressive corporate talent acquisition professional within a mid- to large-sized organization with a distributed workforce.
  • Well experienced effectively managing fluctuating requisition load, prior experience sourcing and recruiting professional, administrative, IT, technical, editorial, and/or sales recruiting is highly desirable.
  • Experience with demonstrable organizational and prioritization skills and excellent attention to detail, strong results with reducing time to fill, skilled at sourcing and identifying diverse top talent.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Strategic, proactive, and highly organized with the ability to set own priorities and deliver on competing demands and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Effective communication, exceptional relationship manager and consistently demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good understand of ATS technology, willingness to resolve issues, and applies continuous improvement methods; strong reporting/data analytic skills desirable.
  • Confident negotiator, strong influencing skills: including ability to influence up.
  • Demonstrated strong business skills, prioritize actions to support company goals.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law/compliance - federal, state and local.
  • Prior experience building, implementing, and delivering a scalable and high-touch talent acquisition solution within a corporate environment is desirable.
